The Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery recently concluded its first surgical mission after pandemic last April 27,2023 at the Jose B. Lingad hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Our PSOPRS surgical mission members include, Dr. Mariel Angelou Parulan , Dr. Mae Singson, Dr. Yvette Santiago-Gatmaitan Dr. Gabriel Bunagan and Dr. Elaine Yatco-Omana. The team headed by Dr. Mariel Parulan organized the surgical mission activity together with the residents of Jose B. Lingad, three (3) fellows in training and other PSOPRS members volunteers (Dr. Mark Imperial, Dr. Honelyn Teo, Dr. Marco Tumalad, Dr. Cristine Therese Santos, Dr. Franklin Kleiner, Dr. Raoul Henson) who also actively joined and helped accomplish the surgical mission.
During the surgical mission activity, the surgical team were faced with different interesting cases from Orbital and eyelid malignancies to blepharospasms. These cases were handled and distributed to two surgical groups. Additional procedures like botox injections were also performed during the mission.
The surgical mission was concluded with a fellowship nightcap of sumptuous Pampangueno cuisine dinner and cocktails.
