The head of the only dacryology institute in the world, Dr. Mohammad Javed Ali, recently visited the Philippines to do a series of dacryology lectures. He is the head of the Govindram Seksaria Institute of Dacryology (GSID) located at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India.
Upon arriving, he proceeded immediately to Angeles city and did a talk with the members and officers of the Central Luzon Society of Ophthalmology. He shared his vast experience on lacrimal diseases entitled “Moral Lessons in Lacrimal Drainage Disorders”. The next day he did the same lecture in front of the residents and consultants of the St. Luke’s Institute of Ophthalmology in Quezon City. His last lecture day was delivered with the members of the Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the famous Lorenzo’s Way restaurant in Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City. He talked about “Recent Fascinating Advances in Dacryology”. He presented the following lacrimal advances/topics:

Dr. Ali was able to impart a lot of his experience and knowledge in dacryology to our fellow ophthalmologists and he is open to future collaboration with the society in terms of lectures, surgical training and research. Dr. Ali will be back in December as one of our prominent speakers during the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology convention at the SMX.
