This webinar is a virtual collaboration between two Ophthalmic Plastic Societies who have long established learning from one another and close ties for more than 20 years. This relationship was established through our seniors and founders of two Societies namely Dr. Reynaldo Javate for PSOPRS ( Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ) and Dr Choo Chai Teck for SSOPRS ( Singapore Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ) .
This learning session was initiated by the current Society Presidents Dr Charmaine Yu Ang for PPSOPRS and Dr. Audrey Looi for SSOPRS. The virtual event was in good attendance reaching 155 participants. The webinar had 5 interesting cases of aesthetic and functional surgery for Blepharoplasty , Ptosis and even combined cases that involved underlying Thyroid Eye Disease and other systemic conditions that affect surgical outcomes. These cases were presented and extensively discussed in pairs among Dr Charmaine Yu Ang, Dr. Sunny Shen, Dr. Hugo Lee, Alfonso U. Bengzon, Dr. Audrey Looi and Dr Roseny Mae Singson. Exchanges of Surgical Tricks and Pearls to attain good surgical outcomes was a high yield for everyone present. As we move forward together thru a virtual platform, as we learn to co-existing with the times of COVID and its unpredictability, both societies look forward to another successful learning session soon , hopefully face to face .
