On July 17, 2021, The University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Department of Ophthalmology held its post graduate course entitled “Beautiful Eyes: The Ophthalmologist’s Perspective” which hosted both international and local delegates.

The session was spearheaded by Dr. Jacqueline Mupas-Uy who discussed on anatomy of the ageing face, its relevant structures and how it changes through time. The next speaker was one of our past PSOPRS president and the current president of the Philippine Ophthalmic Pathology Society, Dr Alex S. Sua. In his very detailed and informative talk, dynamic ultrasonography was explored on how it can influence our diagnosis and management of oculofacial conditions otherwise unavailable to the naked eye in today's setting.

UST-Department of Ophthalmology have outdone themselves by inviting two lovely and highly accomplished international delegates. Firstly, Dr Cat N. Burkat vastly tackled the pros and cons in dealing with botox, fillers and laser skin rejuvenation. To follow up is a very distinguished personality in Dr Kasturi Bhattacharjee, who gave a lecture on how she evaluates and approach her patients all together sharing her surgical techniques and also the pitfalls that we need to watch out in dealing with midface rejuvenating surgery.

To cap off the packed session, our very own Dr Victor Lopez, one of the founding members of APSOPRS shares the advantages in using his toy of choice, the CO2 laser in doing his ever desirable blepharoplasty surgeries. Special mention goes to the set of panelist who made the session more vibrant namely Reynaldo M. Javate, Maria Perla Salud E. Duran, Roseny Mae C. Singson, Manuel O. Palmero.
