The first batch of training institutions, which included St. Luke's Medical Center, Ospital ng Maynila, Far Eastern University and Veterans Memorial Hospital, participated in the round table discussions (RTD) last April 4, 2019 at Max's Restaurant, Scout Tuazon. The event was sponsored by our friends from Alcon Industries.
Dr. Mervyn Fernandez of FEU presented two cases of basal cell carcinoma, followed by Veterans Memorial Hospital and Ospital ng Maynila, who discussed two different cases of Sebaceous gland carcinoma of the lids. Presentors were Dr. Richard Sarmiento and Dr. Aly Hizon respectively. Dr. Steff Someda of St. Luke's Medical Center discussed a mysterious case of osteomyelitis with recurrent abscess of the upper lid.
Dr. Arvin de los Reyes of St. Luke's Medical Center shared with us updates on the latest International Thyroid Eye Disease topic on a promising new drug, Teprotumumab which is still on its 3rd phase in a clinical trial for thyroid eye disease patients.
Developments on the upcoming 2020 APSOPRS were discussed by the PSOPRS members, and future tasks and plans have been rounded up.
