Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Masterclass in Orbital Fracture Reconstruction

The Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PSOPRS) together with the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS) concluded its first Masterclass in Orbital Fracture Reconstruction held in St. Lukes Medical Center-Global City Taguig, Metro Manila on March 8,2025. This training includes essential skills, case studies and hands-on training with our experts: Dr. Kelvin Chiong, Dr. Katsuri Bhattacharjee, Dr. Ho-Seok Sa, Dr. Mark Anthony Imperial, Dr. Yvette Marie Santiago-Gatmaitan, Dr. Felice Katrina Ranche and Dr. Emmanuel Boniao.
First session included insightful series of lectures and discussion of complex cases. Our very own PSOPRS Past President, Dr. Yvette Santiago-Gatmaitan discussed Diagnosing Orbital Fractures and our current PSOPRS President Dr. Mark Anthony Imperial discussed about Imaging in Orbital fractures. A very interesting topic about managing complications in orbital fractures was also presented by our APROPRS secretary Dr. Felice Katrina Ranche. Dr. Emman Boniao also shared his surgical video case about orbital blow out fractures.
The afternoon session included hands-on training with different demo materials which were provided by Osteopore. The participants were then grouped and participated in hands-on application. All these were made possible by our very own Dr. Yvette Santiago-Gatmaitan and other members.
During the hands-on training, the APROPRS-PSOPRS team handled series of Orbital fracture reconstruction and surgical dissection techniques. Here, Dr. Katsuri Bhattacharjee and Dr. Ho-Seok Sa delivering their lectures.
